We worked with a large medical company to achieve high-volume cycle rates with an integrated material handling robotic system. Three industrial robots worked together to handle large plates with heavy steel lids quickly and efficiently. The company’s application of robots in material handling increased worker safety by taking over the heavy lifting and completed a cycle rate of 200,000 assays per day.
Accuracy and repeatability
Automated material handling systems specialize in moving and placing the right components in the right spot (accuracy) every time (repeatability). Accuracy and repeatability can be a challenge for any business, but it is especially challenging to move thousands of small parts a day. One of our customers needed to load small inline blood filters quickly and with precise orientation for the different parts. We helped the company create a system that could pick-and-place with a cycle time of 1.2 seconds.

High-Speed Fuel Inject Assembly Redesign Leads to Repeat Business
The customer's current assembly technology was no longer sufficient. In order to accommodate new part designs and increase the speed and quality of production, JR designed and built an enhanced precision fuel injector assembly system. Each injector consisted of almost twenty small parts. The challenge was taking existing assembly technology and enhancing that to accommodate new configurations required by a European auto manufacturer. External dimensions, internal components assembly, and performance specifications were changes that the manufacturer sought from the team’s new design.
